For over 35 years, he dedicated himself to building homes and a strong reputation, always standing by the quality of his work. From a young age, I was immersed in the trade, spending my summers on job sites, learning the ropes alongside him. He taught me more than just construction—he taught me the importance of integrity, precision, and taking pride in every project.

When my father transitioned into a role as a building inspector, I stepped up to continue the business. Running J&R Custom Contracting gave me invaluable experience, from managing projects to working closely with homeowners to bring their visions to life. It was a time of growth, challenges, and sharpening my skills. But eventually, life took me in a new direction, and I made the move to New York.

In New York, I took a break from contracting and spent a few years in the furniture moving industry. While it was a different field, it gave me a whole new perspective on homes and construction. I saw firsthand how important well-designed spaces were—not just for their appearance but for functionality and livability. I learned about structure, logistics, and the small details that make a house feel like home. But deep down, I knew my heart belonged in the trades.

Then, everything changed when I met an incredible woman who shared my drive and passion for craftsmanship. We connected over our love for building and creating, and before long, we knew we wanted to build something together—not just in our lives, but in our work. After getting married, we made the decision to launch our own business, combining our skills, experience, and dedication to quality work. That’s how A&E Custom Contracting LLC was born.
